On May 15 patrol stopped a vehicle for an expired registration. During the vehicle stop, the operator, Eric VARONA, was determined to be suspended and an odor of marijuana was coming from with in the vehicle. VARONA was asked to exit the vehicle and a pistol was observed in the driver's side door pocket when opened. VARONA was taken into custody for outstanding warrants and a search was conducted on the vehicle. Officers located a loaded firearm and a small amount of marijuana. VARONA was charged with multiple firearms offenses, drug offenses and traffic offenses.
