On Tuesday, 7/30/2019 at approximately 14:40 hrs., the Central Berks Regional Police Department Administrative Assistant notified officers that she needed assistance in the lobby of the building because an irate female was trying to get in to the building. Several CBRPD officers responded to the lobby of the police department office to find Marsel C. Nanouh, 21 years-old, of Mount Penn standing at the front door extremely irate and out of control. When officers confronted Nanouh, she began demanding to know where her vehicle and keys were. Officers advised Nanouh that it was unknown where her vehicle and keys were because our department had not dealt with her or her vehicle recently and we did not impound her vehicle. At this point, Nanouh became even more irate and began to scream profanities and threaten the officers with physical harm because we were refusing to help her, even though it sounded as if Nanouh had been arrested by a different department in Lancaster County the previous day and CBRPD officers were attempting to refer her to that department. While dealing with Nanouh, two capped hypodermic needles were found in her belongings. Nanouh was able to grab one of the needles, remove the cap, and began to charge at CBRPD officers while holding the uncapped needle in an aggressive manner towards the officers. Nanouh was subdued by officers without incident and she was taken in to custody and transported to the Berks County Sheriff's Department. Nanouh was charged with the following offenses:
1. Aggravated Assault / Attempt to Cause Bodily Injury to Police Officer (F2)
2. Terroristic Threats (M1)
3. Simple Assault (M2)
4. Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2)
5. Disorderly Conduct (M3)
6. Possession with Intent to Use Drug Paraphernalia (M)
Nanouh was arraigned and released after posting $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is pending.
