The Central Berks Regional Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at the Oley Turnpike Dairy at 6213 Oley Turnpike Road in Oley Township. The burglary occurred sometime between Tuesday, 7/9/2019 at 9:30 PM and Wednesday, 7/10/2019 at 5 AM. Unknown actor(s) entered the property and forcibly entered the pen that housed numerous exotic animals including six parrots. Three out of the six parrots, two green and one multi-colored, were stolen from their cages. Photographs of two of the stolen parrots are attached to this post. It is believed that this incident may be linked to two other unsolved burglaries that occurred this year where exotic birds were stolen. They are as follows:
- 2/17/2019 between 3 AM and 4 AM - Diane's Pet Center - 3001 Perkiomen Avenue, Saint Lawrence - Pionus parrot stolen
- 5/27/2019 2:15 AM - Pena Auto Service - North 3rd Street & Walnut Street, Reading - Grey parrot and green parrot stolen
