On Saturday, February 19th, 2022 at approximately 1815 hours, Officers from the Douglass Township Police Department were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash with unknown injuries near Rattlesnake Hill Rd and Poole Hill Rd. Officers arrived on location to find a Blue Dodge Ram 2500 front end down in a ravine on the side of Rattlesnake Hill Rd. The operator who was identified by his PA Driver's License as Ryan Michael Brennan was out in the middle of the roadway walking towards the officers. Brennan stated that a deer ran out in front of him and that he swerved to miss it ending up in the rear of 12 Poole Hill Rd. Brennan's vehicle caused damage to the owner's yard before finally coming to rest in the ravine while attempting to drive back out onto Rattlesnake Hill Rd. Through their investigation and from Brennan's admission to drinking, the officers concluded that Brennan had been operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Brennan was transported to Berks County Central Processing where he consented to a breath test in which he gave a breath sample of .144% Charges for DUI are being filed.
