Farmington Avenue between Reading Avenue and Englesville Hill Road will be closed for an undetermined amount of time. Around 1740 hours a vehicle struck a MetED pole which caused wires to hang over the roadway. MetED has been notified and we were informed a crew has been dispatched.
On 29 June 2021, the Douglass Twp Police located an Apple iPhone in the roadway on Douglass Dr. The phone is light blue in color and unfortunately very badly damaged. If anyone is missing an iPhone and can identify one other item with the phone, please contact the department at (610)367-9474.
Today, June 1, 2021, the Douglass Township Police Department was advised by a subcontractor working for PennDOT that the bridge running over the Ironstone Creek will be closed beginning on June 14, 2021. The bridge is estimated to be closed for three months.
The bridge is located on Pine Forge Rd. between Manatawny Dr. and Grist Mill Rd.

The Douglass Township Police Department would like to remind everyone that riding ATVs on public roadways and Township property is illegal and dangerous. Posted below is a link for the PADCNR regarding ATVs.
Please be on the lookout for Ginger, a yellow golden retriever. She is missing from Township Line Rd. Ginger is reported to be friendly, and wearing a purple collar with her information on it. Please contact the Douglass Twp. Police Department if found. A photo of Ginger is posted below.
Rattlesnake Hill Rd. between Constitution Ave. and Hill School Rd. will be closed due to a tree and power lines down in the roadway. MetEd has been notified. Please avoid the area until the roadway has been cleared.
Douglass Township Police are receiving numerous reports and have multiple units in the area of Farmington Ave and Colebrookdale Rd for what appears to be a heavy-set gentleman with a beard, flying on some type of sleigh. He was last spotted hundreds of feet above the neighborhood. We have several calls for excessive noise in the area (intermittent sounds of bells) and someone on rooftops.
Road Closure: Old Philadelphia Pike from Squirrel Hollow Rd to Grosstown Rd there will be crews repairing a pipe in the 500 Block of Old Philadelphia Pike from Mon December 21st through December 23rd. The roadway is only expected to be closed during the day. It should be open to traffic for the evening. The entire job is expected to be completed no later then Wednesday December 23rd.
