On July 19, 2018 at approximately 0150 hrs. Officer(s) twice observed a silver colored Toyota travel through the intersection of Bellevue Avenue and Kutztown Road driving erratically, skidding and spinning the vehicle tires. An attempt was made to stop the vehicle in the 3400 block of Kutztown Road. But as the Officer exited the police vehicle the suspect vehicle fled. The Officer again followed the vehicle which was refusing to stop. The suspect finally stopped the vehicle in front of a residence in the 1100 Bellevue Avenue. The suspect exited the vehicle and ran up to a residence. The Officer attempted to take him into custody and the suspect resisted arrest before managing to flee into the residence. The door to the residence was subsequently opened and the suspect was found hiding on the second floor under a bed. The suspect was identified as Cesar Emilio Arias. He was taken into custody, transported by this Officer to the Berks County Sheriff's Department. Charges of Fleeing and or eluding a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Assault, reckless driving, driver required to be licensed, to be filed.
