On Thursday, 5/14/20 at 02:50 A.M. Laureldale Police were called to the 3400 block of Fairfield Street for a female yelling for help. A Laureldale Police Officer arrived and found the female victim sitting on the sidewalk bleeding from the face. The female victim stated that Alan Simonsen had struck her in the face and left the residence in his vehicle. Information was obtained at the scene and a broadcast was put out over the police radio to be on the lookout for Alan Simonsen and his vehicle. Approximately twenty minutes later, a Muhlenberg Township Police Officer observed Alan Simonsen operating his vehicle. Alan Simonsen was stopped in the 200 block of E. Bellevue Ave. where he was taken into custody. The Laureldale Police Officer responded to the location of the traffic stop and took custody of Alan Simonsen. He was transported to the Berks County Sheriff's Department Central Processing Center. Charges of Simple Assault and harassment were filed against Alan Simonsen.
