What is Code RED and why is it important to me? Code RED is an emergency & general notification service that allows South Heidelberg Township to notify residents and businesses by telephone, cell phone, text message, email and social media regarding time-sensitive general and emergency information. The system is capable of sending messages to specific areas, streets, neighborhoods or the entire Township. The notifications are determined and sent by authorized Township personnel including the Township Manager and Chief of Police.

When will Code RED be used? Township Residents can sign up to receive Emergency Notifications as well as General Notifications. The Township will utilize Emergency Notification to alert our residents of situations such as snow emergencies, hazardous traffic or road condition issues, boil water advisories, etc. The Township will utilize General Notifications to inform residents of community events, recreational announcements, etc. Residents can determine which type of notifications they would like to receive (Emergency, General or Both).
