Strong Armed Robbery Arrests

On Monday night, the 10th of February, 2020, at 7:22 P.M. the South Heidelberg Township Police Department was dispatched to a report of a strong-armed robbery that occurred in the parking lot of the Dollar General store, located at 226 E. Penn Avenue, in the Borough of Robesonia, Pennsylvania.  Initial reports stated that a 21-year-old male victim had been assaulted by a group of four male Actors, who hit him from behind, knocked him down, and stole his wallet and cell phone.  The Actors then fled, but through the investigation of the incident, and review of area surveillance video, four subjects were quickly identified.  Three of the four suspects were known by responding Officers due to prior incidents involving the same men.

The victim had just left the Dollar General Store when he was assaulted and robbed by the men.  He was transported to Reading Hospital via Western Berks Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries and has since been released from treatment.  None of the employees, or customers inside the store were involved in the incident.

To date, three of the four suspects have been taken into custody.  Those suspects are:

Ryan Connor, from the 100 block of E Penn Avenue, Robesonia.  19 Years old.

Shaimere Matthews, from the 100 block of W Penn Avenue, Robesonia.  23 Years old.

The third suspect is a 15-year-old male from the Borough of Robesonia.  He was committed to the Abraxas Youth Detention facility.  His identity is not being released at this time due to his age.

The fourth subject, a 16-year-old homeless male from the Borough of Robesonia, remains at large, but is actively being sought by investigators.  This male does not pose a risk to the community and is still believed to be in the area with associates of the suspects already in custody.

All suspects have been charged with Robbery, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Receiving Stolen Property and Simple Assault.
