Strong Armed Robbery Update-4th Subject Arrested

On Thursday afternoon, the 13th of February, 2020, at 4:25 P.M. the South Heidelberg Township Police Department received a tip from a resident of Robesonia that the fourth suspect wanted in the Monday night robbery in the parking lot of the Dollar General store, located at 226 E. Penn Avenue, in the Borough of Robesonia, Pennsylvania was currently inside a vacant home on North Church Street in the Borough of Robesonia.  Officers immediately responded and took the suspect into custody as he attempted to flee from the home.  Additionally, three other subjects, 2 male adults, and a 15-year-old female, were found inside the vacant home.

The 16-year-old wanted male was then transported to the South Heidelberg Township Police Department where he was turned over to Officers from the Berks County Juvenile Probation Department.  The male was charged with Robbery, Theft, Receiving Stolen Property and Simple Assault for the Monday night Robbery.  Additional charges of Criminal Trespass will be added for Thursday night’s incident.  The wanted Juvenile was then taken to the Abraxas Juvenile Detention facility where he will be held until his hearing in Juvenile Court.

The two adult males found inside the vacant home with the Defendant were identified as:

Neftali Torres, a 19-year-old male from Wernersville.

Jerry Hartgen, an 18-year-old male from Wernersville.

The 15-year-old female was found to be from Robesonia and was released to her Mother who responded to the scene.

All three subjects found with the wanted Juvenile face charges of Criminal Trespass.

The South Heidelberg Police would like to thank the residents of the Borough of Robesonia, Mayor Randy Gartner, and the students and staff of Conrad Weiser School District for the tips and assistance in providing information that ultimately led to all four of the Robbery suspects being taken into custody in such a short period of time.
