On May 11, 2016 at approximately 1030 hours a suspicous white male knocked on a door in the 2300 block of LaSalle Dr. claiming to be a truancy officer. The suspect asked the home owner how many children lived in the house and were at school and not at school. The suspect did not make eye contact with the complainant and appeared uncomfortable while talking to her. The male did not say anything further and left on foot. The suspect is described as a white male between 35-40 years of age with brown hair, wearing a gray long sleeved shirt with a patch on it and work pants. A similar incident occured in the borough of Wyomissing in the 1700 block of Reading Boulevard around 1:50 PM, with a white male claiming to be a tax collector and wanting information on the complainants daughter. The suspect in this incident is described as a white male approximately 30 years of age. If anyone has a similiar incident at their residence please call 911 immediately so that your local police can respond to check out the legitimacy of the individual. Remember any utility worker, cable employee etc will have a photo id and proper identification. If you are not sure please call your police department.
