On August 4, 2022, at approximately 00:38 AM, the WRPD was dispatched to a business in the 600 block of Parkside Drive North for a report of a disorderly patron who was refusing to leave. WRPD Officers responded, arrived and began an investigation. The Officers spoke to staff and identified the disorderly patron, a female, identified as Carla M. SPATZ. They learned that, prior to police arrival, SPATZ was verbally abusive to staff and also began spitting on staff. SPATZ also made threats to staff where she stated that she would take their scissors and kill staff with them. Staff advised SPATZ multiple times to leave the business grounds and she refused. WRPD Officers attempted to speak to SPATZ and asked her numerous times to leave the business. SPATZ again refused and became verbally abusive to the Officers as well. She threatened to take an Officer's gun if they tried to detain her, continued to refuse to leave and then leaned towards the Officers as if she was going to spit on them as well. SPATZ was then detained and was ultimately transported to Berks County Central Processing to be arraigned for the listed charges before a District Justice.
