In February of last year, Corporal Doelp and Officer Vooz responded to a home for a report of a dog found in the basement of an abandoned residence.
The dog was abandoned and discovered to be malnourished and confined to a small space without access to food or water. Furthermore, the dog was suffering from multiple medical issues that required immediate attention.
The South Heidelberg Township Police Department collaborated with the Berks County Animal Rescue League, who responded to the scene and took custody of the dog. The Animal Rescue League provided care for the dog, ultimately saving her life. She was adopted into a new loving family.
We were recently contacted by the family who adopted her and received an update on our four-legged friend. Meet "Rosa", who is certainly living her best life.
