Robeson Township Resident Hit With Distraction Type Burglary

** Distraction Burglary**
Members of the Robeson Police are investigating a distraction burglary that occurred on Alleghenyville Road on 09/21/19.  Through investigation, it was found that a male approached the victim, identifying himself as an employee with an electric company.  Said male indicated he was there to install a light on a pole.  While this male was speaking with the victim, two (2) males that were waiting inside a newer white Ford F150 pick-up went to the rear of the residence and forced entry into the home.  Additional information will be added to this post as further investigation is conducted.

We would like to remind residents to be careful when letting someone in their homes.

Utility workers performing maintenance should have identification and a uniform, and they should be driving a company vehicle. Private contractors aren't allowed to travel door-to-door to solicit business without a permit from the township, according to authorities.

Residents should always ask to see identification or a permit when a worker shows up at someone's front door. Residents should not allow any unidentified person pressure their way into a home.

Anyone with information on the burglary can call Robeson Township Police at 610-582-4276.
