You are out for your morning walk and find a Pug pup who was also out for a walk but apparently forgot to bring his owner or his leash.  The Pug is obviously someone’s beloved pet who probably slipped out without his owner’s knowledge.  You don’t know where the dog lives but you don’t want to ignore the friendly critter – what should you do?  Call the Spring Township Department!

Spring Township has entered into an annual contract with Safety Net Sanctuary of 187 Houck Road, Fleetwood to accept and care for stray and lost domestic animals originating from within Spring Township. Since most of our stray animals are local pets who have simply gone for a walkabout, we will be making an effort to reunite them with their owners before they must be taken to Safety Net Sanctuary.  The Department has purchased an upgraded kennel to safely house the animals and a chip reader to help identify their owners.  The animal’s picture will also be posted on our Facebook page and website which generates a lot of buzz among the residents.

If you have any questions, or wish to contact Safety Net Sanctuary directly to pick up an animal, their phone number is 610-944-8099.
