Local Boy Scouts Learn About Traffic Safety
On Saturday, 2/20/21, Sgt Mark McCreary of the Spring Township Police Department, met with Scoutmaster John Secoges and 10 members of Boy Scout Troop 456, for a presentation on traffic and driving safety. Although none of the scouts are currently licensed, several were about to embark on the challenge of the licensing process. Sgt. McCreary spoke about the importance of proper driving habits, sobriety, and the safe operation of a well-maintained vehicle. The group also discussed examples of past accidents in our Township and their root causes. Sgt McCreary remained on location as Scoutmaster Secoges walked his scouts through a pre-drive vehicle maintenance check, and provided tips on determining that vehicles are safe to operate. Sgt McCreary completed the presentation by showing and explaining the many features of STPD patrol vehicle and the technology employed by the Department in serving our community.
