This Saturday, September 20, 2025, West Reading Borough’s annual “Fall Fest” event will take place in West Reading Borough. Please be aware of the following:

PARKING/TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:

Penn Avenue will be posted "No Parking" from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM, from 4th to 8th Avenue. If you normally park on Penn Avenue during weekend hours, please take note of the signs/restrictions. Because of the number of parking spaces and limits on posting the signs, each individual parking space may not have a sign. Be advised, there will be NO PARKING in the 400, 500, 600 and 700 Blocks of Penn Avenue during the above listed times.

Penn Avenue will close from 4th Avenue to 8th Avenue, to all non-event vehicle traffic at 8:00 AM. Penn Avenue is expected to reopen to all traffic at approximately 7:00-8:00 PM.

Vehicles parked on Penn Avenue after 7:00 AM, will be subject to citation and towing.

DETOUR Info:

All westbound traffic on Penn Avenue will be required to turn left or right at 3rd or 4th Avenues, and utilize Reading Avenue, or the South side of the Borough for westbound travel.

All eastbound traffic will be required to turn onto North 8th Avenue and utilize Reading Avenue for eastbound travel.

For access to the Penn Street bridge, the City of Reading or Route 422, use North 4th Avenue to Penn Avenue for left turns.

**Additional Route-of-Travel Info:

The intersection at 5th Avenue and Penn Avenue will be open to North and South traffic during the event. This will allow access to the hospital and the South side of the Borough. Due to the expected large number of pedestrian traffic expected at the event, please use extreme caution if driving in this area.

BARTA Passengers: BARTA will utilize Reading Avenue to pick up and discharge those passengers who would normally use the Penn Ave bus stops from 4th to 8th Ave. Specific information/questions should be directed to BARTA.

Note to vendors and businesses: Please note your booth locations prior to entering so you are aware of your entry point to get to your designated space in the morning for set-up (The locations are at either North 7th Avenue and Court Street OR Tulpehocken Avenue at Court Street).  You will be denied access at any other location, once the barricades are in place.
