SHOOTING INCIDENT – INFORMATION RELEASE

            On Friday, August 6^th, 2021 at approximately 3:00 AM, West Reading Borough Police Officers, who were on patrol in the area of S. 3^rd Street / Chestnut Street were approached by a vehicle containing a male shooting victim. The adult victim had a shoulder injury and was treated on scene by Officers and responding EMS units. The injury sustained was minor and the victim has already been treated and released from an area hospital.

Officers from the WRPD began an initial investigation and were assisted on scene by Officers from the Wyomissing Police Department. The investigation was continued by WRPD Criminal Investigators and preliminary information was obtained relevant to this incident. At this time it is believed the incident took place on the Penn Street Bridge. The victim is not cooperative with the investigation.
