UPDATE: Water Services affected in West Reading Borough
LAST UPDATED: MAY 13, 2021 - 8:15AM
At no time did the water pressure drop below 60-75 PSI. Therefore, a boil water advisory is not required for the residential or business districts. The only affected area within West Reading that is under a boil water advisory is the Doctor's Office Building of the hospital. This water line was used to flush air from the system. As a precautionary measure this building has been placed under a boil water advisory until two consecutive days of clean test results have been acheived.
If you experience cloudiness in your water this most likely is a result of operating multiple valves throughout the system and this should clear in a few days.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
The Borough of West Reading Public Works Department is currently working with Western Berks Water Authority to address low water pressure issues. The Borough of West Reading requests residents and businesses of West Reading to conserve water usage to the best of your ability.
We are in the process of activating emergency water service supply from the Reading Area Water Authority.
A system wide boil water advisory has been issued. Please click here for information pertaining to this advisory.
